Bedroom Color Vibes for a Good Night's Sleep

Impact your mood with color
bedroom colors can help you sleep

Finding the right color for your bedroom wall is more important than simply matching your bedspread to your baseboards. The color of your walls may very well have an affect on your mood and the way you sleep.

Look to see if some of your favorite colors will give your bedroom the right vibe-

White: As a pretty neutral color, white has a calming effect. White is one of the best colors for visually expanding the space of your room, as well as inducing cooler emotions. If the traditional white doesn't quite cut it for those of you want something a bit more interesting, try a tinted beige or gray. These can add some color to your room without seeming too bold.

Black: Be careful with this intense color. It is certainly attention-grabbing, but it can make your space seem more confined and claustrophobic without quality lighting. Although black is commonly associated with nightmares, it is a very dramatic color that can be great for accents.

Red: This fun and exciting color promotes lots of energy, but might not be ideal for people who have difficulty sleeping. Husbands and wives take note-as a passion color, red is believed to invoke feelings of love and desire. Like black, subtle shades of red (like a gentler, more subtle pastel) work great as accent colors on pillows or curtains.

Brown: As an earth tone, brown is comforting and mellow. Brown is one of the best colors to promote that "warm and cozy" feeling in your bedroom, and works well with most other colors.

Blue/Green: Yoga studios love these colors because they bring out feelings of peace and tranquility. Considered the best colors to promote sleep, blues and greens help to create the perfect bedroom mood. These are definitely "cool" colors that can give your bedroom an airy, clean look.

The colors that you choose for your house should help you to feel comfortable and at home in your living space, particularly in your bedroom. Since you begin and end your day in bed, the right color can have a significant impact on your mood. Happy painting!
