On 12/30/2007 I made the decision I was going to make some serious changes in my life, starting with losing those nagging 10 lbs I somehow woke up with the day I turned 30. Literally, the eve of my 30th birthday I went to bed weighing 128 lbs and somehow woke up at 138 lbs.
My two primary sources of inspiration to get healthy are Jillian Michaels and Craig Ballantyne. Why these two individuals whom I've never met have had such a huge influence on my life, I have no idea. Nevertheless, a big shout out to both!
I started Craig's Turbulence Training program on February 13 and became a fan immediately. The focus of Turbulence Training is to maximize your workout efficiency. The workouts include circuit training and high intensity interval training (HIIT). You can choose to do both the same day, thus limiting your workouts to three-times per week, or you can do a circuit one day and a HIIT session the next. I chose to do split routines so I would only have to allocate 25 minutes per day to each workout. As hectic as my schedule can often be, even I could find 25 minutes per day to exercise.
Now five months later (and 12 lbs lighter!), I feel as if I'm on the cusp of a new period in my life; a period that will focus on health, paying it forward and exploring new opportunities.
I very much look forward to sharing this journey with the readers of MindBodySanctuary. Your encouragement will be much appreciated and hopefully my journey will inspire some of you to begin journeys of your own.
Stay strong. Peace.
