Skin Deep

Hazardous beauty
make up

Is your foundation doing more than just covering up blemishes? Is it actually causing more blemishes on the inside? Beauty products can cause cancer, birth defects and other health problems according to the Skin Deep website, produced by the Environmental Working Group with the mission to “use the power of information to protect human health and the environment.”

Beauty products are not regulated by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). Companies are able to use any ingredient they wish without testing for safety despite the fact that our skin is the largest organ of our bodies and absorbs toxins into our blood systems with the same efficiency as our stomach does when it absorbs food.

Launched in 2004, Skin Deep's database possesses information and safety assessments for 41,418 products with 8,305 different ingredients from 1,346 companies. Visitors can learn things like:

· what products alter hormone production in teenagers

· hazardous baby bubble baths

· cancer promoting deodorants

· the safest saline solutions

Interested visitors can become a supporting member of The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Members of the coalition include public health, educational, religious, and labor workers and consumer groups who are working to require the health and beauty industry to stop using dangerous chemicals in their products.

Get your signature on that pact and make beauty a safer place for our children!

I have truly been blessed by some of the cosmetics I have used for a lot of years that I could ever tolerate at all while others are not that blessed. And I still sometimes use products that have been on that skin cancer list, as well as some home-based products. Like Noxema. I love it! And I feel that I've slowed down on it that my skin is looking crappy. so I will soon have to start reusing it. It was one amonst many on that skin cancer list. I may be the type of person who has been lucky enough to reject most cancer and that skin cancer is one of them too. Why, I'll never know. But I believe everyone is different. Maybe a lot of the Italian food I became overweight on was the blame. That has thus far restricted me from devloping cancers of any sort. And I hardly ever goto the doctor, nor do I even believe in them. I do so adore homemade cosemtics. They are the best of them all.

It is more obvious one hand washes the other and contaminates the entire human population in order to make money off these cancer producing products, enormous payments to get rid of cancer, the chemical dependency world of legal drugs, until you are finally embalmed, the next highest paid busy of funerals. Where is the love, trust and protection these companies were put in busy for in the first place? Our women and children are under attack!
